Dusk in the Mountains – Snoqualmie Pass

August 11, 2021

Mikayla and Luke took a mini vacation to the PNW and wanted to soak in the evergreen goodness Washington has to offer! We met at dusk in the mountains to adventure at Gold Creek Pond in Snoqualmie Pass.

Visiting from the midwest, these two reached out to me, wanting to capture some photos to remember this adventure together. The sun glowed for us as it set; the soft blues that came out around dusk made the mountains shimmer. They were so stinking sweet together as they roamed around this new place (in their amazing outfits) and we soaked in the sun! We got to see the sun all evening. As we looped around the trail, the sun was playing tag with us, leaking through the evergreens.

Dusk in the mountains is something the PNW knows how to do well – Snoqualmie Pass is full of amazing and accessible places to visit. This trail is around a mile-loop, mainly flat, and fully ADA accessible. Minimal movement for these views? Count me in! Pro tip: bug spray is your friend at this location, especially on those summer nights. I know Mikayla and I walked away with some bug bites, but to be honest, it was so worth it.

Mikayla and Luke’s desire to take photos for the sake of adventuring really hit home for me. I never really thought about just wanting to take pictures in a new place! If you’re interested in an adventure session when you visit Washington, please contact me! I’d love to hang out with you, especially if it’s at dusk in the mountains! There are so many beautiful spots to explore and I’m forever grateful that Mikayla and Luke trusted me to show them one of my favorite locations. I’ve included some of my fav shots from our session at Snoqualmie Pass below and will never get over how gorgeous not only this location is, but these two and their love! Luke was so stinking sweet with Mikayla, who was down for absolutely anything, even in her cute shoes!

I love these two —
